A splendid antique Victorian Mourning locket modelled in 15ct Yellow Gold with a wonderful ribbed surface on both sides.

The piece opens up to reveal a fabulous display of curled hair showcased behind a glass window. It has been beautifully preserved but can be removed if preferred, so you can add your own photographs or lock of hair.

Mourning jewellery in the Victorian Era sometimes contained a lock of hair as a souvenir to remember a loved one so that a piece of them was always kept close to the wearer.
